Excellency
Honorable Dr. Dipu Moni
Minister of Foreign Affairs
Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh
Subject: Request for cemetery site in Dhaka.
Dear Sir/ Madam
It is with great pleasure that we write to congratulate you and your government on your work in making Bangladesh a great country.
We are proud to be citizens of Bangladesh and are committed to working hard to contribute to its success.
We would like to make a request of you. At this current time, there is a sizeable minority of Buddhist people who are living and working in Dhaka. These people come mostly from the Chittagong district. When any members of Buddhist Community die, the families are forced to return their bodies back from Dhaka to their own home districts for final resting in cemeteries there.
We would like to improve upon this situation and create a cemetery for Buddhist people in Dhaka. Therefore, we are requesting from you, permission to have a small piece of land set aside for this very purpose. The Buddhist community in Dhaka made this request originally some time ago to the Religious Ministry, however no progress was made. Therefore we would greatly appreciate any such assistance that you can offer us to expedite this matter and bring it to a successful resolution.
May we end by wishing you and your government continuing success in all your Endeavour’s to improve the wellbeing of all people in Bangladesh.
Yours sincerely,
Sanjoy Ratan Barua
General Secretary
